Bio
Dennis Tan (b. 1975 Singapore) Based in Tokyo. Tan graduated with a Dip. in Painting from Lasalle College of Arts (Singapore), a BA in Environmental Design from the University of Tasmania and an M.Arch from the University of Western Australia (Australia). Tan often operates as a bricoleur who appropriates surrounding found objects and the environment to achieve his conceptual goals. The works employ durational performances, sculptural relics, installations and drawings characterized by impermanence and vernacular construction, blurring the boundaries between art and life. His works have been exhibited most recently at the National University of Singapore, Singapore Bienalle (2019) and Yokohama Triennale (2020).
